1946 ~ 2024
Dennis Keith Richardson, 77, passed away on March 6th, 2024, surrounded by family in his home in Lake Ann, MI. Dennis was born in Traverse City, MI to Eugene and Mary Irene (Sheridan) Richardson on April 29th, 1946. He attended Glen Lake schools, graduating in 1964, where he enjoyed playing basketball, football and competing on the debate team.
Following graduation, he joined the United States Navy in 1966 and served active duty until 1972, whereafter he served in the Reserves until retirement. Following his active duty service, he served as a patrol officer for the Leelanau County Sheriff ’s Department. In 1980, he joined Michigan Bell, where he worked for over 30 years.
Dennis was an avid carpenter, photographer, scuba diver, and obtained his pilot’s license. He enjoyed building his boat and building gifts for his children and grandchildren.
Dennis married Carol Ann Viswat on October 6th, 1979.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol, three children, Angela Richardson Gross (William Coulston), Andrew Richardson, and William Richardson (Kaylie). He is also survived by four granddaughters, Amanda, Abigail, Ava, and Charlotte, Uncle John Sheridan and nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his infant son, Michael Allen Richardson, parents, Eugene and Mary, and siblings, Duane and Loren.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Fair winds and following seas.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11 am at Maple Grove Cemetery in Empire.
