So who’s the patsy in the boys’ Class C basketball District hosted next week by Traverse City St. Francis?

No one, at least in obvious terms, as odds are that none of the six teams will enter tournament play with a losing record.

Suttons Bay and Glen Lake had the best draw in the tournament with opening round byes. Defending District champ Forest Area on Monday will play Elk Rapids and then highly touted St. Francis will play Kalkaska. Games will begin at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively.

Meanwhile, the Norsemen (18-1, with their only loss to St. Francis) and Glen Lake (13-6) will be waiting for their turns. Suttons Bay will take on either Forest Area or Elk Rapids next Wednesday, March 10, at 6 p.m. The Lakers will be pitted against St. Francis or Kalkaska in the second tilt.

The surviving teams will match up next Friday, March 12, for the District title.
