The Willard J. Baker Scholarship Fund recently announced it is seeking applications for its annual scholarship program, which is open to young people from Suttons Bay and Delton Kellogg school districts.

Applicants must attend high school at Suttons Bay or Delton Kellogg; demonstrate leadership abilities in school activities or through work experiences; demonstrate a strong commitment to community service; maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale; and be accepted into an accredited post-secondary education institution certified by the State of Michigan.

Applicants must also complete an application and secure a signature by a school guidance counselor or principal; prepare a typed 1,000-word essay describing the importance of leadership, citizenship and community service; and submit official school transcripts.

Applications must be completed and postmarked by March 31. Multiple scholarships will be awarded.
