Leland’s Board of Education is reverting to its original meeting schedule following action taken Monday night.

The board voted Monday night to go back to meeting on the third Monday of each month, rather than the fourth Monday as approved in the fall of 2008.

The board had traditionally met the third Monday of the month, but switched to the later meeting due to a scheduling conflict for board member Dr. Peter Sneed.

Superintendent Mike Hartigan said the move was made in part to ensure attendance of an Enterprise reporter, who regularly attends the workshop meeting of the Suttons Bay Board of Education on the fourth Monday of each month.

The board’s March meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on March 15 and the third Monday of succeeding months, with the exception of June when a truth-in-taxation meeting is traditionally scheduled. During June, July and August the meeting time is moved up to 6 p.m., Hartigan said.

In other business during the 35-minute meeting, the board approved a summer tax collection agreement with Centerville Township at a rate of $2.50 per parcel.
