Evelyn Bloomberg, 72, of Holland departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Hospice House of Holland. She was surrounded by her family, friends and God’s love.
Evelyn was born July 21, 1937 in North Star, MI, the daughter of David Sidney and Jennie Bernice (Parker) Biddinger. She is survived by two sons and a daughter. Andrew Parling of Zeeland. Gus and Karey Parling of Whitehall, Jill and Norman Chambers of Hamilton; a brother, John and Sharon Biddinger of Ithaca; five grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews; two stepchildren and two exchange student daughters. She was preceded in death by her sister Joann Biddinger, Ithaca, and her late husband, Dr. Robert Jeff Bloomberg, Carson City, MI.
As a former resident of Suttons Bay and a retired teacher in Ithaca Public Schools, she touched many lives. Evelyn’s other loves in life outside of her family and friends were gardening and bird watching. Her request was for a private cremation. A Celebration of Evelyn’s Life will be held Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the Ithaca Senior Center from 2-4pm. A second Celebration will be held at her home and garden on Saturday, May 1, 2010.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland or to the Evelyn Bloomberg Scholarship Fund through Ithaca Public Schools.
She will always be oceans of pep with a laugh on every wave.
