1946-2009
Services were held Sunday in Rockwood for frequent Leelanau County visitor Donald Bylsma of Rockford who died Nov. 18. He was 63.
He was born June 13, 1946, the son of Charles and Ruth Bylsma, who preceded him in death. His wife, the former Pam Stallman of Northport, survives.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated a business restoring classic and antique automobiles. He enjoyed fishing, collecting antiques, and lighthouses.
He is also survived by his children, Scott Bylsma of Grand Rapids, Kurt (Andrea Bylsma) of Grand Rapids, Chad Bylsma who is serving in the Navy, and Brittany Bylsma of Rockford; siblings and one grandson.
The Pederson Funeral Home of Rockford was assisting the family. Interment was to be in the Algoma Township Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods or the American Heart Association.
